Activity

  • Parliamentary Bike Ride – sponsored by TIER
  • Study Tour to Waltham Forest.
  • Worked to convey MP’s support for active travel amidst threats to cut the budget in October ‘22
  • Drafted and suggested transport questions and written questions.
  • Monthly parliamentary monitoring – there were more than 200 mentions of active travel and related road safety issues, in questions and debates in both Houses in the last 12 months.
  • 27,000 Twitter followers

 

Achievements (we have called for these in recent reports)

  • Changes to the Highway Code, which specifically benefit cyclists and pedestrians.
  • Formation of Active Travel England (includes CPD training for Local Authority transport officers).
  • Active Travel Fund 4 had a specific focus on funding for walking schemes.
